Dynamic exercises are all the rage these days because: who wants to spend hours at the gym everyday just to get mediocre results when you can get the same or better results in much less time?! Our lives are busy enough, so we don't need to complicate them further with the same old separate cardio and weights/ machine routines that are truly becoming obsolete (now that we know better).
